Message of condolence from Free Aceh Movement and fellow Achehnese

Dear friends and family of Tjut Njak Carmel Budiardjo,

On behalf of  the Free Aceh Movement and all friends from Aceh, we would like to convey our sincere condolences for the demise of Tjut Njak Carmel Budiardjo, on Saturday, 10 July 2021 in London. We share the sadness and remorse of her family and friends together.

Her dedicated work in highlighting the atrocities and human-rights abuses in Acheh and other parts of Indonesia especially East Timor, Papua and others had drawn world attention and support. Apart from that, she had also contributed a great deal in educating and supporting Achehnese activists during the height of the conflict in Acheh.

Tjut Njak Carmel Budiardjo, may have left us for good but she shall never be forgotten in the history of the Achehnese people. We thank you and also TAPOL for all your contributions and support for Acheh.
